Is There A Judgement Day after Foreclosure
Your house has been foreclosed. You have moved. Now, are you free of the debt?
The lender has taken possession of the house you thought you owned. They will now sell it If it does not bring enough to pay the debt you agreed to they may file a judgement against you for the remainder of the debt.
Once a judgement is placed it is recorded at the County Court House and becomes public record. Any future sale of assets may be subject to be taken to satisfy this debt. Judgements affect our ability to purchase.
Speaking of debt, does the same structure apply to the debts our Country owes?
Stopping Foreclosure of Home
Time is of the essence. This statement means there is an urgency in making your house payment. Read the fine print of your agreement with your lender. Stop listening to friends who have a solution.
Our word is our bond. In plain form this means that when you purchased your house, words were written into an agreement and you heard and hopefully read them at the closing of your loan.
This becomes your road map for how your ownership will be handled. Perhaps your neighbors map is different. Follow your directions.
However, usually when a loan becomes 90 days delinquent foreclosure proceedings begin. Foreclosure ends in eviction.
Once you are in arrears or see the delinquent statement on the wall of your mind, the solution is to generate more money.
Want ideas for doing just that? Email me and I will personally respond and help you generate ideas to implement and perhaps to avoid loosing your home.
Saving Home, An Ounce of Prevention
When you borrow money to pay for a house, you become a servant to the lender. As a matter of fact, every debt you owe makes you a servant to that lender. No wonder, we have conflict in our emotions when we owe money.
Setting a priority that the mortgage payment comes before anything is the first step in saving home.
If your mortgage payment is $950.00 and you only have $500.00 to pay on bills, it seems to make sense to use that 500.00 to pay the ones that can be current with that amount. Wrong Choice!
Pay the $500.00 on your mortgage payment and find a way to EARN the remainder within the 30 day period.
What happens if you don’t?
Saving Home
It is great to share my little house vision.
Some of my friends are facing foreclosure. As I listen to them and feel the pain they are in, it has made me stop to reflect.
Perhaps, it is time for me to pause and explore how you save the house you have when faced with foreclosure.
Obviously, when one is in trouble on a mortgage payment, it becomes difficult to think. So, we will go through the next few post by sharing what others whom I have worked with on a one to one basis have done to change the circumstance.
Since the house payment is usually the highest payment let’s start with a decision there.
Remember the day you signed the papers to own your home? You were filled with confidence and joy for the decision you made to enjoy the American Dream to own a home. You “knew” you were able to afford the house because the mortgage company approved you. Later, I want to address how an individual should decide whats affordable, but for now we will focus on what to do when you are delinquent on home payments.
Went on Vacation!
I am Back! Guess I have been lost and went to find me. I went to sleep early last night and obviously I woke up early. It is way too early. However, in Seaside, Oregon my son seems to be awake too and he had sent me a link to a copy of a newspaper article about Aunt Josie, my great grandmother. The copy of the article is timely as it reminds me of the reason I started this blog, going back to my roots and continuing the legacy of belonging to this family. She delivered as a midwife over 5,000 babies. I want to be instrumental in helping that many people build a little house and to pay for it in 5 years.
In our present economy it is critical for us to remember the honesty, hard work and joy of our ancestors. Read about Aunt Josie here
Aunt Josie
Dear Diary, this message was in my inbox! It makes my heart flutter with memories of a past life left so far behind, memories tucked away that surface with mother’s day so close. This picture is of my grandmother, Dora Sizemore Asher, Aunt Josies daughter. Grandma Asher died when she was 96.
Hello,
I was looking for info on Josie Jackson Sizemore and ran across your blog.My husband is a great grandson of Josie’s. I was wondering who are your parents and if you ever visit the home-place?The annual Jackson Sizemore reunion will be Memorial Day weekend this year at the old home place in Antley Branch, Manchester Ky. Would love to get acquainted with more family.Look forward to hearing from you!!
My favorite Uncle TJ may be able to go with me. I am thinking he may be her only living grandson. What a memorable day that may be. Dear Diary, tonight my mind is revisiting the family I had growing up.
Daily Journal April 30
April 30 Dear Diary,
Great day today. It is almost time for me to leave this area. Finally, I am acknowledging to myself I have worked and survived in a field unrelated to Real Estate for over a year. Since January of 2011 I have worked in the circulation department for the Daily Astorian. It’s been fun, challenging, no where near the pay from Real Estate but part of my education in another world. Today, I finished a successful sale for a project that will fund 30,000 newspapers.
Got an email response from my blog today too, reminding me of the family reunion near Manchester, Ky, for descendants of Aunt Josie Jackson Sizemore, my great grandmother, whose legacy inspires me.
I have lists covering the table tonight. They include list to pack in different containers, an order for unpacking, a question for WHEN do I leave? Time to try on for size and downsize to my permanent residence, the little house!
