A Time for Change
Since the beginning of this year, I made changes.
I prayed. . “I said God, I need to walk and talk and be productive or I need to clean cabins in Glory. Have mercy on me and make a change in my life.”
My faith was so weak, I presented the two choices. Following the prayer something bad happened. I thought my assignment may be to clean those cabins.
In November of 2019 I became very ill. I went to Urgent Care described my feelings and gave a suggestion for my health. The NP disagreed, ordered a cat scan, antibiotics and a follow up visit in 3 days…..(Interesting Christ arose on the third day)
After 3 days, I felt better and kept my appointment and told her what I needed next. She disagreed, prescribed more antibiotics, a bland diet, no stress and several visits to other doctors. In addition to the other Doctors, she wanted me to return in 3 weeks for a follow up cat scan. Now, visits to other Doctors definitely were not on my radar.
I did go for the second cat scan. The results were much improved.
The last week of December I returned to the NP. She shared her suggestions…none were acceptable. I asked for physical therapy to enable me to move, walk and stand better. She wrote a prescription.

I was blessed to choose the best Therapist ever. Twice each week for 6 weeks I went for a treatment. We documented my progress. Improvement is in the 70 percent range!
It is so exciting to share these results with you. Why did it take so long to discover this route? I don’t know. Each year the surgeon said I must have another surgery. I guess I fully believed him and did not look for any other option.
My early morning routine includes a 30 minute work out Prescribed by the physical therapist. When making changes in your personal life, I believe you should start with Health. This is where I started. It’s an ongoing process and I am thankful for the beginnings. Let’s

I Wore The Wrong Shoes
The phone rang and I eagerly answered. It was the hiring manager who had interviewed me the day before.
I had applied for a job to sell modular homes. The lot was upscale, people friendly and a massive inventory made it a desirable place to work. I was waiting for the phone to ring.
Your Shoes Aren’t Acceptable
However, when I received the anticipated call a final deciding question was asked. The call went like this, ” I noticed one thing during the interview…you were wearing tennis shoes. We require dress shoes, preferably black.” My $100.00 pair of blue tennis shoes that matched my dress outfit was a rejection???
Funny, I had noticed his shoes were dirty and the heels worn, but it did not keep me from wanting to work there. How many people have purchased a major investment based on the salespersons shoes?
To this fashion bug gentleman, he felt his clients required a sales person to wear proper shoes. His eyes did not see the acquired deformity that restricts the kind of shoes I can walk in.
My feelings and pride was hurt. I also felt angry.
Since the accident in the 90’s, God has blessed me and my little crooked foot to sell many homes, to walk many miles and most people are kind. Many have never noticed the acquired deformity. I cannot remember a day without pain. Sundays are fun and sad, I miss pretty dress shoes for church. Since my accident in the late 90’s this was the second person to remark about my shoes.
Do you notice shoes when you meet someone new? Do you remember their eyes, hair style, tone of voice or shoes? If you remember the shoes, what color were they? Did the lady wear high heels, boots, or sandals?
Can you work in a professional environment wearing tennis shoes? Do we decide the shoes necessary for the person in front of us to function, or the color of skin, the type of car makes skill and attitude?
Since the late 90’s I have experienced 6 surgeries on my right foot and need one more. The foot is fused to the side. I love it though. It has served me well with pain and success.
Many people bought a home from me! Guess what? I was either wearing sandals or tennis shoes!
In Billings, I discovered a new mind set! It also included professional sales ladies to shovel snow.
During a retreat in Redding, I received prophecy…”You will dance around the water in little shoes that glitter”
On snowy days, like today, I recall that prophecy and think of the Ocean, wild and free with diamonds of sunlight glittering. I am looking for little tennis shoes that glitter.
After trying on many shoes, I found one that was tolerable and somewhat comfortable. The first pair of these, I purchased from a local store. Next ones, were from Amazon. I will continue to shop local so I can try on as my foot has changed some since the last purchase.
Until next time,

Summer Don’t Leave
End of August Brings End of Summer
August 29th.
So much has happened since August 3rd, when I last posted on the blog. I was getting my car service that day. I recall a warm memory at that time thinking I had taken good care of the car, no wrecks or dents and it would last me a long time! The odometer registered 121,000 miles. I had personally driven at least 118,000 of them.
And Then…
Later in the month, Mother nature paid a visit and rained hail! My granddaughter and I were riding in the car when the storm started. It sounded like construction workers pounding on the roof.
We pulled into a drive way and turned the music up loud. In less than 12 minutes the storm was over!
According to the insurance company my car is totaled. I disagreed.
It’s no longer beautiful; however, it did not affect the driving capabilities. I opted to keep the car. I relinquished some of the payment from them. In essence, I bought the car back.
I am pleased. If you recall, the cars name was Victory. Should I change her name to Strawberry? She looks like strawberries without the little black dots!
A friend and I plan to drive her to the South before Winter. Maybe I should keep it Southern and Call her “Strawberry Victory”! What do you think?
In the coming week, I will wash and wax her and clean the inside. Somewhere in the near future, another car awaits. For now, I don’t have a payment. The car is a constant reminder life’s storms leave scars and dents, but don’t prohibit us from moving forward.
Victory or Strawberry?
Stress Takes a Toll on Health
When the hail pounded down, a sense of fear entered. For several nights, I would awaken dreading the weather. Next, dealing with the insurance company and agreeing to disagree magnified the situation. Lack of sleep, combined with trauma during the storm drained my energy and my ability to focus.
I consoled myself with food. Comfort foods and too many rich meals resulted in only a 5 pound weight loss.
Weight loss goal was not met and I didn’t feel the best. It was time for some personal attention.
Getting Better
Meditation moments with God, visits to the chiropractor, sprinkled with moments of laughter and taking vitamins turned it around!
I actually shopped 3 different venues for vitamins. First, I considered the ones offered at the chiropractic office. Then, shopped the local health food store. Finally, I visited the local natural foods store. Prices differed with each store.
Next, I checked to see if Amazon offered the ones I wanted. Yes, they did at a better price. I ordered and received them the next day.
Many times Amazon Prime is a money saver. This is the bottle of vitamins I ordered from them and they were delivered with shipping cost covered by my membership.
Today is Beauty day. I am taking my granddaughter to get a manicure. Tomorrow, it will be my turn for a manicure. The weather is beautiful. Just a scent of Fall is in the air, a sad reminder that summer is almost gone. Amazon finds are shared with you and manicure is done!
In the meantime let’s,
Go forth and prosper
Enjoy your day,
Molinda Sue
