Good Morning….Monday is Physical Therapy Day….hmm start with this..
Loving the power of singing today. Recalling memories from the last 10 years my list of favorite songs and artists, has grown and grown!
Kris Kristopherson, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson rank equal at the top….along with Dolly Parton and BB King.
Think about it….Wedding music, Funeral music, worship music, classical for relaxation…music play list for exercise. Music is healing to our soul.
A scripture says, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with Gladness and come before his presence with thanksgiving.
Gospel songs ring out a sermon of their own, either exhuberant worship or repentance.
My parents started me with piano lessons when I was 6. I kept hearing the melody in my head and kinda refused to practice what my wonderful instructor taught. My skill was called playing by ear. It worked well in the Pentecostal movement and I played for churches and funerals by the time I was 11. I wrote a little course and taught other teens to play by ear. The girls loved it as they captured the attention of the young men!
Why Music
Music engages all of our senses. Jingles of food, make us remember the taste and smell, Love songs make warm or sad memories, BB King singing the Blues stirs my soul. My Old Kentucky Home…..brings a longing for childhood, hearing the crunch as we walked through the fall leaves.
The vibration of music affects the mood of everyone …..Sounds of thunder, marching cadence, waltz, Good Morning.. wake up and good night..
In case you haven’t guessed it, I love Music!
Odd thought- I don’t have a play list for my work out. What is yours?
